Coco's MVP Guide: Atroce

Welcome my first MVP Guide featuring Atroce.

Points to remember when using this guide:

1. This is an introductory guide for beginners who are new to MVP.
2. This guide shows you the easiest and safest technique to kill the MVP
3. There maybe better ways to take down the MVP.
4. All the screenshots are from RMS Test Server.
5. Please ignore the max-HP and damage from the screenshots as they were increased to help with the screenshot process.
6. Remember the CC Rights and mention the Source.

Atroce

Atroce is one of the easiest MVP in the game. It has no Earthquake, Hell's Judgement, Magic Attacks nor any Ranged Attacks. This makes Safety Wall the best method to tank and kill the MVP.

Skills:

Pulse Strike: A skill similar to Meteor Assault, but forces push-back. The damage is quite huge but can be tanked with good reductions and Assumptio. This attacked can be dodged with sufficient flee. The skill can be negated by using Safety Wall if standing within 4 cell range or Pneuma if outside 4 cell radius.

Defender: Another noteworthy skill for Hunters. Atroce uses Defender when attacked during Idle State. Hence, let the MVP chase you before using Double Strafe on it.

Two-Hand Quicken: Atroce uses Two-Hand Quicken when below 30% HP. Although, it is not a scary skill, it does eat up Safety Wall stacks quite quickly. Can be cancelled by Dispel or Quagmire.

Power-Up: This skill increase the damage output by a huge amount and makes its Pulse Strike untankable without Safety Wall.

Best Classes against Atroce:

1. Whitesmith + Priest
2. Best-Strafe Hunter + Priest
3. Esma Linker + Priest

Class Guides:


Whitesmith / Knights / EDP-Assassin Cross:

• Step 1: Find the MVP and get your support priest. Make sure the priest is outside the range of Pulse Strike.
   
• Step 2: Cast a Safety Wall, lure the MVP and tank within the Safety Wall. Remember, MVPs can attack from 2 cells. Some skills like Cart-Termination and Pierce can be used from 2 cell range. However skills like Sonic Blow must to used standing next to MVP. Have your priest cast Safety-Wall beside the MVP if you need it.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Step 3: Kill 2 Galions leaving only 1 alive with the MVP. This ensures your Safety Wall still holds when Atroce uses 2-Hand Quicken.
  
  
  
  
   
• Aim and kill the MVP
  
  
  

Hunter / Linker / SBK SinX / Creators / Clown / Dancer

• Step 1: Find the MVP and set up.
  
• Step 2: Cast Safety Wall
  
  
  
  
  
• Step 3: Lure the MVP using priest and tank in Safety Wall.
  
  
  
  
   
• Step 4 : Stand away from MVP to avoid Pulse Strike range and kill the MVP
  
  
  

Champion

It is pretty annoying to solo Atroce as a champ due to the 30% Pulse Strike.  It instantly kills you and has a chance to teleport the MVP due to Rude Attack. I would suggest using a priest to tank or lure the MVP while you Asura from behind.

• Step 1: Tank in Safety Wall or kite the MVP.

• Step 3: Use BWing immediately to avoid deaths.
  
  
  

Wizards

Wizards are generally not suitable for Atroce due to its heavy MDef. You could try killing it with Piercing Staff but its quite unnecessary and the Galions make it harder by aiming the Wizard.



Average Kill Time:

Whitesmith: 1-2 minutes

Beast-Strafe Hunter : ~3 minutes

Soul Linker : ~3-4 minutes without Bragi

Agi-Pierce Lord-Knight :  ~3-4 minutes
